Report
of the Demonstration:
Over
a hundred Baloch people of UK held a large demonstration against
ongoing military operations in Balochistan – Pakistan from 11.30am
till 1.30pm on Sunday 22 Jan 06 opposite British prime minister
office in London (see the attached Photoes).
The
demonstration was called upon by Balochistan Action Committee in
association with Balochistan Rights Movement, World Sindhi Congress,
Sindhi and Baloch Forum.
The
speakers of the demonstration conducted interviews with Geo TV, ANI
TV and other media correspondences. They vigorously condemned the
atrocities of Pakistani Army in Balochistan. They called killing of
12 innocent Baloch in custody by Frontier
Constabulary and killing of Baloch children and women, and use of
phosphorus bomb as an act of genocide. Also immediate and total
scrap of Kala-Bagh Dam project was demanded by speakers and
demonstrators.
The
demonstrators called upon Tony Blair, British prime minister and
other world leaders for their intervention to stop Pakistani
Generals from committing genocide in Balochistan, and urged them to
send a fact-finding mission to war-torn regions of Balochistan. They
also demanded an immediate release of over 4000 extra-judicially
detained or missing Baloch, stop to all military operations in
Balochistan, recognition of Baloch rights. The demonstrators gave
their unequivocal support to the people of Balochistan and the
victims in Balochistan and Sindh.
A
petition letter was handed in by representatives of demonstrators to
British prime minister office at 10 Downing Street at the end of
demonstration.
